About CEEF
Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation (CEEF) is a charitable, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting partnerships between private funding and public education in Cape Elizabeth. CEEF was formed in 2001 by a group of concerned citizens and educators representing a cross-section of the Cape community. Each year CEEF considers grant applications from teachers, administrators, teacher-student teams, Cape resident-educator teams, and from existing foundations. CEEF is committed to fostering innovation and excellence in the Cape Elizabeth school district by:
- Funding initiatives that fall outside the school budget
- Partnering with the school district to help achieve its vision
- Building community-wide support for the benefit of our schools
CEEF committees include Finance, Grants, Governance & Nominating, Strategic Planning, Community Relations and Communications. Currently, Lee Wilson is the Chair of Fundraising, Claire Depke is Chair of Grants, Peter Hatem is Chair of Nominating & Governance, Frank Governali Chair of Strategic Planning, Amy Lombardo is Chair of Community Relations and Chair of Communications, and Joel Bassett is the Chair of Finance. The 2010 president is Christine Mackenzie, whose blog you can read here. CEEF employs a part-time administrator, Sarah Tierney, who can be reached by phone at (207)767-2333 or at the email below.
