Dear teachers, staff and administrators,
Welcome to the Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation website page for Grants. We have some exciting news regarding our grant process. In the past, twice a year we have encouraged you to fill out an application for professional development grants or for classroom grants. Now, we are adding a new program –Rolling Grants. We will now only offer one major cycle, the spring cycle. However, on a monthly basis starting in March, you can apply for grants in amounts up to $1,000. Preference will be given for professional development, but we encourage all ideas and initiatives. There is a separate grant application (see homepage, left side) with details and a deadline schedule.
For our regular cycle, spring 2011 marks the seventeenth time CEEF has funded requests from faculty and administration for opportunities to expand educational experiences for both teachers, staff and students. The application is available for download (see homepage, left side). Applications may be sent for the spring cycle electronically to the e-mail address below or mailed to Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation, P.O. Box 6225, Cape Elizabeth, Maine 04107. Our spring cycle due date is April 25th with presentations slotted for May 9th and 10th.
It is CEEF's mission to foster innovation and excellence in our schools, and our role is to fund initiatives that fall outside the school budget. The process is competitive to the extent that we usually receive grant requests totaling more than our budgeted allocations for each cycle, but we encourage you to apply and to share your ideas with us.
The CEEF Grants Committee, made up of a faculty advisor from each school, CEEF board members, and several community members, reviews all the applications. We will invite each applicant to make a brief presentation to the committee. This will give all of us a chance to ask questions and exchange information. Please click here to schedule your presentation. After the presentations, the Committee goes into closed session to determine the funding recommendations to CEEF's Board of Directors. These recommendations are presented to the full board at a later date, and all applicants will receive notice of the decisions shortly afterwards.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your applications. Meanwhile, you may wish to review some of our past projects by following the links at right.
Sincerely,
Hulda Khalidi and Jennifer Scarpitti-Nelson
