This wall could be used by PE classes as well as homeroom and advisory programs at the Middle School.

The program was extended to 18 middle school students this year, and interest is significant for extending the program to the younger grades.

A School Garden for CEMS: Integrating Learning Across Curriculum Areas through Hands-on Experiences in a Garden Pam Vose, Multiple Grade Levels This project will create a working garden in the Middle School. Existing green space in the center of the school will be used for raised beds. The Life Skills program will take primary responsibility for the gardens, especially during the summer while they attend extended year programming through special education services. The program will also have significant community support and assistance.

Star Light, Star Bright Kerry Kertes, Multiple Grade Levels This proposal will initiate collaboration with Southern Maine Astronomers to work with 9th grade physics classes (night sky studies) and 12th grade astronomy students (photometric research). Students will be able to work with astronomical equipment and SMA members, visiting SMA sites and participating in monthly star parties. The budget covers the purchase of camera equipment that will enhance telescopic pictures; SMA will lend/lease other equipment to augment the student research.
