Our Mission

The Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization of community members committed to fostering innovation and excellence in Cape Elizabeth schools by:

* Funding initiatives that fall outside the school budget
* Partnering with the school district to help achieve its vision
* Building community-wide support for the benefit of our schools

Our Vision

Inspired Children & Teachers

CEEF will build support, involvement, and private funding throughout the community for the benefit of our town’s public schools. The end result of this work will be inspired teachers and children of character who are among the nation’s best educated and best prepared for their future.

A Preferred Place to Educate

By providing excellent tools, opportunities, training, and community support, Cape Elizabeth will attract the best teachers and administrators and give them every reason to stay. The Foundation will play an instrumental role in achieving this reputation through the exciting and innovative nature of our grants, the ease with which we make them available, and our programs of recognition.

Substantial Resources

CEEF will establish and build a permanent capital fund that will facilitate educational initiatives in perpetuity. With Board oversight, these resources will be prudently invested for the long term as a means of achieving our mission.

Partner with School District

Through a genuine private/public partnership, the Foundation will collaborate with the Cape Elizabeth school system in achieving a shared vision of educational excellence. Open and active communication between the two groups will be the hallmark of our association.

District-Wide Impact

CEEF will complement the work of other school support groups by addressing unmet needs and opportunities at the district level. We will work together with all stakeholders to facilitate effective and creative district-wide solutions, teacher initiatives, and professional development opportunities not otherwise addressed.

Builder of Community Support

Sustained community support for our schools will be forged through ongoing CEEF initiatives, creating a culture in our town where citizens passionately believe in the responsibility and privilege to educate every child within our schools.

A Preferred Donee

CEEF will build a reputation as an informed and responsible steward and be viewed by the community as an organization that effectively directs donations of time and money to benefit the school system. This reputation will attract capable volunteers and abundant donations to help accomplish our mission.

Education Foundation Model

CEEF will be recognized as a model for other Maine communities seeking to form local education foundations. We will readily share our knowledge and experience with others who seek to promote quality public education.
